![]() The separated usage of 'zipline' vs 'tether' wasn't completely clear to me, but I assumed they meant firing a zipline while riding an existing zipline.RELATED: Deep Rock Galactic: Complete Engineer Guideīy completing the weapons Assignments, you can earn two more heavy primary weapons, the Thunderhead Heavy Autocannon and the Hurricane Guided Rocket System. That is, if I'm not misunderstanding the OP's suggestion, of course. It'd still be preferable to work with others rather than try to tackle it alone with ziplines. But I don't see how the ability to fire a zipline while riding a zipline might discourage teamwork any more than the current system. These would potentially be very sensible arguments against such an idea. I'd understand if the developers couldn't find a way to feasibly work this idea into the game, or if it simply doesn't mesh with their intent of how the tool should work. a few seconds to swing your pickaxe 2-6 times before firing each zipline. ![]() The suggested idea would simply bypass the nook-digging step. Drop into said nook, turn 180, fire another zipline at max angle. King Fossil の投稿を引用:The problem is that your example of why it'd be a good upgrade in the OP is that it'd enable you to get out of holes solo so you wouldn't have to bother with any of that boring teamwork stuff.A) The cost of getting out of the hole by yourself without relying on teamwork would be all of your Ziplines.ī) You already can get out of the hole solo.įire a zipline at max angle. It wouldn't throw off balance like changing the number of zips that a Gunner gets or anything, it'd just give a little more flexibility on how to use the tool. That said, I don't think the ability to fire a zipline while on a zipline would be a bad change, assuming the devs could find a way to accomplish this. I personally really don't favor playing Gunner at all, but imo the Zipline is one of the strongest traversal tools in the game. But they can be used in any mission to provide quick and reliable travel across a great many types of gaps and obstructions, for covering downward inclines quickly (useful when battling Dreadnoughts, or even if it's just a hallway/tunnel that you're running to get back to the Escape Pod), or for tactical reasons like zipline combat or avoiding fall damage. I'd say it is the strongest tool on Point Extraction missions, especially when the Mine Head is higher in elevation than most of the rest of the map. Platforms and tunnels can both end up getting destroyed. Once you place it, it's there for the entirety of the mission. It's the only Traversal Tool that is indestructible. I don't think it's really all that weak, at all. Of course there would be some limitations to this and I'm not proposing endless traversal by tethering off of tethers infinitely (as long as the Nitra and supply drops allows) but the limitation being that a tether can ONLY be made off of a grounded line. If it's a real far fall, it might take a zip and tether to one ledge and a zip and tether to another. ![]() I think the limitation of requiring the Gunner to have a grounding point for every zipline attachment should be changed to being able to tether off other ziplines from already grounded lines.įor example, if a grabber hauls me off 150m from the drop pod and down into a ravine, instead of the team having to make a joint effort to retrieve me, I could get one established zipline and a tether to get me back up. I know a lot of counterargument would be that if the team is operating well that they should be able to lend the support needed to get the Gunner out but I would argue that a minor tweak could significantly improve the Gunner's travel independence without disturbing the class balance while improving quality of life for the Gunner class. The Gunner's traversal tool feels like the weakest out of all of the classes and the likeliest character to get stuck in a rough spot when needing to quickly get out of a low point to a drop pod or away from a mob if they've been suddenly cut off from the team.
